Sleep research indicates people everyone changes sleep positions 8-12 times during the night.
Dr. Allan Hobson , Harvard Medical School indicates a night's sleep has 4-5 cycles, each which progresses through several stages. "Two shifts per cycle is optimal" Dr. Hobson says. Too many movements, constitute "tossing and turning" and making for poor sleep but too few shifts-sleeping like a log-may be worse.
